Hello World!

With the new year here and like many others, I took the opportunity that the holiday downtime has given me to decide what I would like to see differently with myself for 2026. So again just like many others, I originally decided to commit myself to the gym again, eat clean, forsake social media, and start picking up books again, but in the back of my mind one thing stayed there like a wallflower at a dance, yearning to be noticed but not really ready to step out and demand to be addressed; improving my communication skills.

Writing has always been mediocre for me. I have usually no issue with producing an opinion and being able to put pen to paper or in today’s metaphors I guess, pixels to screen, but I have a tendency to be critical of what I produce. What should be a quickly developed opinion quickly becomes hours of scrutiny and edits that seem to make an original thought and position get lost in my own head and words. Just as how I stressed over the last sentence using quickly twice (yes I intentionally left it there to advance my point). This year I want to change that for me. Like learning to ride a bike it is going to take practice.  Gone are the days of the blog, but at the same time I’m not doing this for others. This is going to be for my own practice.

So here is my resolution: An essay a day. Writing an article a page or two long mainly on my passion projects with the intention of developing better writing habits and skills. An overall goal of being able to communicate to others with clarity. While I dont care if it gets read or not, I want to publish work that is actually productive to others so I will primarily focus on things that revolve around my IT career and professional growth, with maybe a sprinkle of life balance stuff for better context but above all else I want this to be for me to feel I can communicate my thoughts, opinions and ideas effectively and with each passing day this practice makes my skills just a bit stronger.

So if you’re reading this, thank you for taking the time. With each post I hope to find my writing style and improve as I go, making the products of my ramblings here worth your time to read and think about.
